I remember a few years back a District Convention talk where the speaker was holding up a BlackBerry cell phone and telling the audience that this electronic device was a tool of Satan and to avoid wasting time and money on them. A year later at the Annual Meeting the Governing Body had on display on a table smart phones and every other electronic device imaginable telling the world of JWs that this was the way of the future of carrying out our door to door witnessing, etc. I remember thinking to myself...What The Hell!

This communique from 'Mother' to discard/destroy old worthless WT books & publications reminds me of the words of Ecclesiastes 12:11,12:
"(11)The words of the wise are like oxgoads, and their collected sayings are like firmly embedded nails; they have been given from one shepherd. (12) As for anything besides these, my son, be warned: To the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion to them is wearisome to the flesh."
New & old Watchtower publications are indeed wearisome to the flesh!

In the first 2 pages of the Introduction you'll find these theatrics & posturing:
"It is important to note, though, that within the family arrangement, while the “religious ties [the disfellowshipped or disassociated person] had with his family change … blood ties remain. The marriage relationship and normal family affections and dealings continue.” In other words, normal family affection and association continues."

Yup...I viewed Michael Moore's pre-recorded video also. I watched the video with a couple of friends. We all could relate to what Michael was saying about the pain & hurt of shunning. It sounded like to us he was determined to fight for his wife and kids...he related how his goal was to keep his family in tack... all while the elders were encouraging his wife to leave him on the grounds of 'Spiritual Adultery'...Michael says he'll follow-up with more videos...then came the update from the narrator Jeff that Michael had taken his own life just this past week May 24th 2022.
Yes indeed...Michael R I P!
Lesson for the rest of us...the Jehovah’s Witness religion is extremely toxic and it will kill you if you're not careful!

WT is at it again with their "we may receive instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical" reckless, scary talk! Take note of this paragraph in this week's WT study article:
"Another way that Jehovah provides direction is by means of “the faithful and discreet slave.” (Matt. 24:45) At times, this slave may give direction that we do not fully understand. For example, we may receive specific instructions designed to prepare us to survive a natural disaster that we think is unlikely to occur in our area. Or we may feel that the slave is being overly cautious during a pandemic. What should we do if we feel that the instructions given are not practical? We can think about how the Israelites benefited by heeding the counsel given through Joshua and Zerubbabel. We can also think about other Bible accounts that we have read. Sometimes God’s people received direction that did not appear to be practical from a human standpoint but turned out to be lifesaving."—Judg. 7:7; 8:10 (March 2022 WT Study Article #12 pg 19 par 16)
